Maths & English Level 1
If you need to take both maths and English, this package offers great value.
Level 1 is an ideal starting point for those who are not ready for a Level 2 qualification.
Maths & English Level 2
If you need maths and English at Level 2 (A*-C), save with this package!
Level 2 is often a requirement to apply for university, apprenticeships or employment.
Maths and English Assessment
There are 5 qualifications available for Functional Skills Maths and English. Entry Level 1, 2 and 3, Level 1 and Level 2.
The maths and English assessment has two parts, 1) the Initial Assessment and, 2) the Diagnostic Assessment.
Maths and English Initial Assessment
The initial assessment will find out your working level. Entry Level 1, 2 or 3, Level 1 or Level 2.
Maths and English Diagnostic Assessment
The second part of the assessment is the Diagnostic Assessment. This is skills test to find out your strengths and weaknesses in maths and English.
We use the information from the Diagnostic Assessment to make a personal learning plan.
It is also used to help track your learning progress.
Functional Skills Maths and English Qualifications
Entry Level 1, 2 & 3 Qualifications
Entry level qualifications are for people who haven’t been in education for a long time. They provide support and training to prepare students for Level 1 and Level 2.
This is similar to having:
- 1 GCSE below grade G or 1
- Foundation learning entry level
Maths and English Level 1 Qualification
- Equivalent to GCSE grades 1 to 3 (D to G in old GCSE grading system)
